Trip overview
This tour will take you to the very north of Sweden, close to the Norwegian border! On this arctic adventure trip, you will experience the best of Swedish Lapland! Weather permitting, there will also be the possibility to visit Narvik and see stunning Norwegian fjords. The world’s northernmost ski resorts Riksgränsen and Björkliden are known for their snowy mountains and legendary skiing. In these remote resorts you will be able to see what true nordic wilderness Is all about. You can also try snowshoe hikes or cross country skiing in the fells, and of course keep your eyes open to spot the magic of Northern Lights!

THE JUKKASJÄRVI ICE HOTEL
Included // activity duration up to 2 hours // difficulty level: beginnerThe Jukkasjärvi Icehotel is a hotel rebuilt each year with snow and ice in the village of Jukkasjärvi close to Kiruna. It is the world's first, most famous, and largest ice-hotel. The hotel, including the chairs and beds, is constructed from snow and ice blocks were taken from the nearby Torneå river. Artists are invited to create different rooms and decorations made of ice. Besides bedrooms, there is a bar, with glasses made of ice and an ice chapel that is popular with marrying couples. The structure remains below freezing, around −5 °C. The brand new Ice Hotel is opened every year during the first weeks of December. Visitors who come before can visit the construction site and ICEHOTEL 365 -a permanent structure of ice that includes luxury suites and art suites, all sculptured by selected artists. As well as a large ice bar and an ice gallery. This ice experience can be visited year-round and is cooled by solar panels during the summer months.

REINDEER FARM
included // activity duration 1.5hours + transportation // difficulty: beginnerOn the reindeer farm visit, you will learn about the indigenous people of Sweden, the Sámi, and what the reindeer mean to them. You will get to feed the reindeer and take lots of pictures.

THE HUSKY SAFARI
Price per person. Online price from 89€ - Price at destination from 120€ // activity duration 2 hours + transportation // difficulty: moderateWe will visit the husky kennel and get familiar with the dogs and the mushers. The ride will last approximately 45min according to weather and snow conditions. The sled with a professional musher is shared by 3-4 travelers. Then, you will enjoy hot drinks and cake.

THE SNOWSHOE HIKE
Price per person. Online price from 30€ - Price at destination from 40€ // activity duration 2-3hours + transportation // difficulty: moderate/hardWe will gather in the evening to experience snowshoeing - one of the oldest ways to explore the snowy fells or lakes of the Arctic region. During the short 2-3 km hike close to your accommodation, you can spot animal tracks and even Northern Lights if you are lucky!

- warm outdoor clothes and snow boots are required and not included. The snowshoes themselves are included and are strapped on to your own boots.
TRIP TO NORWAY - NARVIK

We make a stop in a small harbor town Narvik, which is located in the Atlantic ocean and is well-known for its sea battles during WWII. Our tour manager takes you to a viewing point to see the city and by the coast. The road from Abisko to Narvik takes us through some stunning scenery with snow-covered peaks and fjords - we will make stops on the way.

THE ARCTIC SURVIVAL COURSE

Professional wilderness guides will teach you the basics of making snow shelters, ice fishing, and fire-making without matches. Price includes rental of the necessary gear and a fishing permit.

AURORA EXPERIENCE (sold on the spot)
ONLY SOLD ON THE SPOT IF WEATHER PERMITSAlways wanted to see the northern lights? On this 3 hour activity, we do our absolute best to give you this opportunity.
We will drive by bus away from cloudy areas in the look for clear skies and dancing, colorful, auroras. Sometimes the chances of seeing northern lights are greater when we travel away from the destination. Of course, we can never guarantee that the weather is on our side or that the northern lights are visible. We do, however, follow the forecast carefully and go only when we believe the chances are good. This activity has a weather reservation. You can sign up and pay for this activity on the spot.

DAY 3 - DAY TRIP TO NORWAY
09:00 Departure for Narvik. (extra activity)
Narvik is a beautiful little city in northern Norway where you will have a chance to enjoy the view over fjords and mountains during a hike with your guide. You might also want to take a cable car up on the mountain, get to know the rich history in the WWII museum or just enjoy a stroll in the city. Our guide might also challenge you to a dip in the ice-cold fjord!

Kiruna, a city built to house the local miners and their families, is an interesting mix of science and wilderness. Our guides will give you a tour of the city after which you can enjoy taking a stroll on the little streets and their cute cafées.
14:00 Reindeer farm visit (included)
Lapland is home to Sámi people, the indigenous people of Sweden. Much of their livelihood revolves around reindeer, and you will get to know more about their culture and these lovely creatures that until now you may have only heard of as Santa’s helpers.

Always wanted to see the northern lights? If the weather looks promising, we will hop on the bus and look for places with clear skies in the hopes of witnessing the beautiful Auroras dance.
Those who have not booked the Husky tour can enjoy the city tour of Kiruna and some free time in the area.
DAY 5 - ARCTIC SURVIVAL COURSE*

Imagine getting lost in these snowy mountains and fells- would you survive? We’ll teach you the basics of surviving in the north- how to make a fire without matches, how to find shelter in the form of a quinzee and how to find food by ice fishing.
13:00 Cross country skiing (extra activity)
When you learn how to cross-country ski you are officially an honorary Scandinavian. This activity is perfect for beginners, as our guides will teach you how to enjoy one of Sweden's oldest wintery pastimes.
