Golden Circle
A guided bus ride will take you away from Reykjavik to explore the countryside and the famous Golden Circle. Here you will see the Geysir Strokkur, walk up to the Gullfoss waterfall with a 32 meter drop and visit Þingvellir National Park. The national park is an UNESCO World Heritage site and the place where the first Viking parliament was held. Þingvellir also happens to be situated on the fissure zone of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, where Iceland is growing.
Blue Lagoon (85€)
The Blue Lagoon geothermal spa is located in the lava fields in Grindavík on the Reykjanes Peninsula. The water temperature is a relaxing 37-40 degrees centigrade all year round. During the two hour stay you have time to walk around the pool and feel the temperature change, visit the natural saunas and make a silica face mask. The price includes transportation and the entrance ticket.
South shore adventure (from 85 EUR)
The guided bus trip will take you on a trip along the south coast. Passing by the world famous Eyjafjallajökull which erupted in 2010 and caused chaos all over the world. You will have a chance to walk behind the Seljalandsfoss waterfall and walk up to the Skogafoss waterfall. You will see the black beaches alongside the coast and visit the black beach at Reynisfjara with the mysterious basalt rock formations. The bus will take you all the way to the small town of Vík, the southernmost town in Iceland, before taking you back to Reykjavik.

Good to know
Q: I will arrive/depart on a different date, can I still get the airport transfer?
A: You are free to spend some more time in Iceland! However, we can only provide you with a free airport transfer during the trip dates. If you are arriving/departing on a different date, please be prepared to organize the airport transfer by yourself.
Q: What clothes should I pack for a trip to Iceland?
A: The following list is good to check
-
Good walking/hiking shoes are recommended due to the terrain on the countryside
-
Everything windproof and waterproof
-
A small rain coat (when it rains, it rains and an umbrella won't help)
-
Swimming suit and towel
Q: Do I need a sleeping bag or bed linen for the hostel?
A: Bed linen is included in your room, but not a towel. You can rent a towel for the whole stay for 400 ISK.
Q: Can I take the local busses in Reykjavik?
A:The most of the city is within walking distance. But if you would like to go a bit further, you can take the local busses. The fare is 420 ISK. Notice! they don’t give change in the bus. You can find bus stops right outside the hostel and it’s possible to buy bus cards at the hostel reception. We recommend to check www.straeto.is for more information.
Q: Do I have to exchange to ISK before the trip?
A: All services in Iceland accept cards (except for the city buses). In general you don’t need to exchange money, but if you want to stay on the safe side you can do so at the airport and in all banks in Iceland. Notice that the banks are not open during weekends.
Q: Can I buy alcohol in the shops in Iceland?
A: Alcohol is not sold in any supermarkets in Iceland. You have to go to Vínbudín, the only shop allowed to sell alcohol. The opening hours are generally between 11-18.
Q: I have heard that you can shop tax free in Iceland, is that true?
A: All purchases exceeding 6000 ISK are valid as tax free. Refunds are paid on all goods that are exported in the traveller’s personal luggage. Notice that the goods must be unused. This does not include purchases for services such as food and drinks at restaurants. The shop will provide you with a tax refund form with your receipt. By filling it in you can get a tax refund at the airport at departure.
